Dan is personally and professionally committed to the theory and practice of Continuous Improvement.
 

During his years as front-line supervisor, safety director, human resources manager, and corporate trainer, Dan developed his passion for and expertise in innovative and cost-saving ways to enhance safety, accident prevention, efficiency, and effective performance. Dan then put these to good use as director of training and organizational development for a human resources association with more than 400 member companies where he designed and delivered leadership, communication, and safety workshops. In 1997, he formed his own company in order to bring this work to many more companies and organizations.

 

As a professional speaker and masterful trainer, Dan:

Dan has an extensive educational background:

  • A degree in Speech and Communication from Portland State University

  • Degrees in Industrial Management and Organizational Psychology from the Oregon Institute of Technology and the University of Oregon

  • Intensive work in multicultural communication at the Institute for Intercultural Communication, Portland, OR

  • Advanced certifications in Training and Organizational Development from Portland State University and in Corporate Transformation from the Hendricks Institute

  • A certified rhythm facilitator in the programs of Arthur Hull

  • A certified instructor and facilitator of Mastery of Leadership Communication from Glaser and Associates

  • A certified instructor and facilitator of Managing Change and Transition from William Bridges and Associates

 

Dan is a gifted percussionist and tuba player and a passionate volunteer in the local Music in the Schools program. He was the training director of the Crater Lake National Park Volunteer Ski Patrol for more than 25 years and honored in Washington, DC, when the patrol received the national Outstanding Volunteer Group Award from the National Park Service. Among Dan’s life mentors are authors and transformational educators Drs. Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks, Continuous Improvement founder Dr. Edwards Deming, experiential learning trainer Dr. Thiagi, and tuba instructor Dr. John Richards.
